How do you count a voice minute?
A minute is any 60 seconds during which the agent is actively streaming audio to or from a visitor. Idle time, pauses, and text-only messages do not count against your allotment.
How does Pay-As-You-Go work?
You prepay $5 minimum, then we charge $0.30 per voice minute used. No monthly commitment. Best for hobby sites, dev experiments, or super-low-traffic projects. If you find yourself using more than ~100 minutes a month, Starter ($29) is cheaper.
What is the Done-For-You add-on?
$299 one-time. Our engineer connects your database (Supabase, Postgres, Airtable, Shopify, whatever) so Spelo's AI knows your actual products, services, and inventory, not just generic chat. Includes widget install, voice persona configured, validated against your real customer questions, and a 60-min handoff. Available on any plan, including Free.
What happens if I exceed my plan minutes?
The widget gracefully falls back to text-only chat until your minutes reset, or you upgrade in one click. We never silently bill overage charges without your consent.
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. Your plan includes voice usage through our managed OpenAI infrastructure. Enterprise customers can optionally bring their own key for volume pricing.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from the dashboard in one click. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Pay-As-You-Go has no commitment to cancel.
Do you offer nonprofit or education discounts?
Yes. 40% off Pro for registered nonprofits and accredited schools. Email hello@spelo.ai from your institutional address.
Is there an annual discount?
Two months free when you pay annually, on Starter, Growth, and Pro.
What does Enterprise include?
